Feature overview
momentake is a cloud platform for videographers and production teams: upload video and other files, background transcoding to an adaptive streaming format for smooth browser playback (HLS), a My files library, gallery projects, and public client delivery without requiring clients to register.
You sign in to the app with your account (email/password and other methods depending on authentication configuration). The app and docs UI support Ukrainian and English; each gallery project can set its own public page language.
Plan storage quotas count uploaded originals; derived transcoded assets do not consume that quota.
The home screen summarizes what matters: current plan, storage used vs limit, warnings about subscription end or a data retention grace window after cancellation.
Recent files from My files show readiness for playback, previews for supported images, PDFs, and text files where available, actions to play/open preview, download the original, and open the public single-file link menu.
Recent galleries show projects with cover art and optional event date, quick edit, open public page, and copy the client link. You can quick-create a gallery and start uploads with a shortcut into the file manager.
The layout is mobile-friendly: some groups use horizontal paging sections.
Uploads: drag-and-drop, file picker, an upload queue with progress, speed, and cancel. Large files use multipart uploads; a single file can be up to 30 GB when your plan and free space allow.
Name collisions: if a file with the same name exists, you can replace it, keep a new version under a suggested name, or cancel.
Folders: create, rename, breadcrumb navigation, nested paths. Multi-select supports bulk move to another folder or back to the library root.
Sort the list by name, size, and created date; manual refresh; a storage bar against the plan limit.
Selection: add chosen items to a gallery (pick a project) or delete to trash. Trash mode lists deleted files and folders with restore, permanent delete, retention hints, optional purge-all.
Cloud import (Google Drive and Dropbox): after connecting accounts in Settings, browse cloud files, enqueue imports into My files, and track background import jobs.
Per-file actions: play video once transcoding is ready; static previews for supported types; download; rename; move; public links (see Client delivery). Thumbnails/posters are generated automatically where the product supports it.
Gallery list: debounced title search, pagination, cards with cover and optional event date, open editor, open public page, copy link, create gallery (including a quick modal flow).
Each project has a human-readable slug for URLs; project settings include title, description, event date, and public page locale (Ukrainian or English).
Videos are attached from My files; you manage the set of clips, posters/cover picks per video and for the gallery, and optional per-file display titles and descriptions on the public page.
Templates: Studio (dark by default with optional light theme), Cinematic (widescreen preview, image or video hero background and hero options), Portfolio (minimal layout, light/dark theme, player corner style). Portfolio supports section groupings and section browsing.
Design controls: accent color, curated font choices for gallery typography, brand alignment and brand display modes, and hiding momentake branding where the plan allows.
Playback policy: optional prefer-original playback instead of the transcoded stream; optional disable downloads for visitors. You can password-protect public access, rotate the password, or remove protection with validation.
Public galleries open from a shareable URL. The path depends on your profile: `momentake.com/your-profile-slug/project`, a fallback `/gallery/slug`, and with a connected custom domain `your-domain/project`. Clients do not need a momentake account.
Playback uses token-gated delivery; maximum streaming quality on the public page follows the owner plan limits (for example up to 1080p or up to 4K).
Single-file public links: create from the dashboard or file manager, copy the URL, optional expiry presets, optional link password, allow or block download for recipients, inspect the active link, and revoke it.
Website embed: `/embed/:slug` as an iframe, query parameters to pick a video and pass the gallery password; embed view tracking (with a preview mode exception).
On Pro and Max, and on any other plan that includes the option, you can connect a custom domain for hosted pages: add the domain in the profile, sync hosting, check DNS and status, and disconnect. Free public pages show momentake branding (a watermark); paid plans from Basic upward support your own logo without that restriction.
Profile tab: name, phone, account UI locale, connect/disconnect Google Drive and Dropbox for cloud import into My files.
Brand tab: brand label for public pages, logo upload, website URL, public profile slug for pretty paths, custom domain management (see Client delivery).
Galleries tab (defaults for new projects): default template, accent and fonts, page locale, brand display, hide momentake label on public galleries on supported plans, default toggles for downloads and original playback.
Plans & Billing tab: compare plans (capacity, Free gallery count cap, streaming quality caps, branding and domain features), upgrade/downgrade flows, checkout with first-payment promo codes when campaigns run, cancel auto-renew, inspect a scheduled post-period downgrade and cancel it, next charge and subscription status indicators.
Security tab: send a password-reset email; DSAR area to request a data export, submit account erasure with confirmation (including fresh re-authentication where required), and track request statuses.
Referral tab (where enabled): personal invite link, summary stats, ledger history, and payout requests under program rules.
